Description
Soaking wet men from 24 Construction Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), struggle to get a Land Rover up a greasy, muddy slope. Even with tyre chains fitted, this vehicle is sruggling to get to the top of a slight grade. The engineers are building a 70 mile stretch of road way through thick rainforest in the state of Sabah, North Borneo. Unseasonal tropical rains have turned parts of the road into a boggy morass, slowing up the construction process and making it impossible for vehicles to operate without the assistance from the sappers.
