A Martinsyde aircraft of No. 1 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, at Mejdel, being loaded with bombs for a bombing expedition. The bombs are being fastened in their frames underneath the lower wings, ready for release by the airmen, at the proper time. In the foreground is the small truck on which the bombs are carefully brought to the aircraft.
