Description
The use of helicopters to evacuate wounded soldiers meant a big decrease in the percentage of men who die from their wounds. Men wounded in action at Fire Support Base Balmoral were quickly ferried to hospital by this helicopter which arrived to deliver water in plastic jerry cans and then take wounded personnel from Balmoral soon after an attack on the base. Running towards the helicopter (background) is trooper Mick Jackson and the person standing in the centre is l/Cpl Rus Kiellerup, both from C Squadron, 1 Armoured Regiment.
