Description
In the cold light of dawn and assisted by the lights of their trucks, unidentified men from 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), conduct a search and check of rubber tappers at the barbed wire gates of a village in the Kuala Kansgar district, during a 2RAR food denial operation. This type of operation is designed to prevent food supplies falling into the hands of Communist terrorists who are known to be active in the area. All people, including children, are searched when entering or leaving the village.
