Description
Armed with an Owen gun, 2/9002 Private (Pte) Paul Feneley, of Belfields, NSW (right), B Company, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), acts as 'shotgun' guard as the unidentified men behind him unload supplies from the back of a truck. The Officer in Charge of B Company, Major G L Bales had contacted Headquarters at Kuala Kangsar, requesting this re-supply for his men, who are chasing a group of Communist terrorists in the jungle near Sungei Siput, Perak. Although the soldiers in the background are unlikely to come into contact with Communist terrorists so close to the main road, vigilant guards are still posted as a precaution. Pte Feneley also served in Korea with the Australian Ancillary Unit Korea from 1952-1953.
