Description
A damaged 4.7 inch gun with one wheel off and breech block removed, just prior to the evacuation of Gallipoli. When Australians returned to Anzac after the armistice they found this gun abandoned by the side of the Koja Dere Road. The Turks had apparently tried to move it to their war museum in Constantinople. It was secured for the Australian War Memorial. See also H04000 for an earlier image of this gun.
