Description

The curved trestle bridge approximately 154 kilometres north of Nong Pladuk (also known as Non Pladuk), or 260 kilometres south of Thanbyuzayat. This bridge, approximately one kilometre south of Hintok Station, was one of six trestle bridges between Konyu (Hellfire Pass) 152 kilometres north of Nong Pladuk, and Hintok 155 kilometres north of Nong Pladuk. This bridge has been confused with the Pack of Cards bridge which was sited just north of Hintok Station. It was a three tiered trestle bridge approximately 400 yards long and eighty feet high. During its construction it fell down three times, hence its name Pack of Cards. This site was abandoned in September 1943, when a high earth and rock embankment adjacent to it was completed. By the end of the war in August 1945, the bridge structure had completely collapsed and disappeared under jungle regrowth. There is no known photograph of the Pack of Cards bridge.
