Description

The Dardanelles from Chunuk Bair, looking south east. Chanak on far side of Narrows in the right, Boghali in extreme left centre. This photograph was taken from the position furthest inland reached by New Zealanders on 8 August 1915. Photograph taken on the Gallipoli Peninsula under the direction of Captain C. E. W. Bean of the Australian Historical Mission, during the months of February and March, 1919.
