DARWIN, NT. 1942-02-19. SCENE DURING THE FIRST JAPANESE AIR RAID ON THE HARBOUR. THE NEPTUNIA, LOADED WITH AMMUNITION, HAS BLOWN UP AT THE WHARF. IN FRONT OF THE EXPLOSION THE TINY HMAS VIGILANT CARRIES OUT RESCUE WORK WHILST IN THE CENTRE BACKGROUND A FLOATING DOCK HOLDS KATOOMBA WHICH ESCAPED DAMAGE. IN THE RIGHT FOREGROUND IS ZEALANDIA, ANOTHER AMMUNITION SHIP, WHICH WAS SET AFIRE AND SUBSEQUENTLY SANK.
