RAF Station Binbrook. Informal portrait of 404503 Flying Officer (FO) Francis Gordon Jackson, DFC, 460 Squadron, RAAF. FO Jackson and the other members of the crew posed in their spare time for Australian Official War Artist Stella Bowen who painted 'Bomber Crew'. Before this painting was completed the crew had been posted missing and this photograph was used to assist Stella Bowen to complete it. Eventually it was learned that FO Jackson had been killed on 28 April 1944.
