Conducted in June 1989 with Arthur Tucker, Flight Lieutenant, 75 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force with Ed Stokes discussing Pre-war teaching career, enlistment in RAAF and initial training at Bradfield Park, Tamworth and Deniliquin, training on tiger moths at Tamworth, selection criteria for flying Wirraways, gunnery training at Port Pirie, operational flying training at Nhill, initial impressions of the Kittyhawk plane and description of cockpit controls, inadequacy of 3 Squadron instructors, tragedy of flight between Bankstown and Townsville, posting to Port Moresby, morale of Squadron, first air contact with Japanese, post-battle stress, missions of 75 Squadron, Japanese air tactics, effect of John Jackson's death on squadron, pressures on pilots to fly defective aircraft, return of squadron to Kingaroy and their morale, discipline problems in squadron and conflicts with Les Jackson, reflections on the poor command on the RAAF in New Guinea.
