Description
Related to the First World War service of 4539 Private Henry George (Harry) Hartnett 2 Battalion. Bound typed manuscript copy of memoir entilted 'Where Barranges Met' by Henry George (Harry) Hartnett, 1930. (The title page is missing). Contains a detailed account covering training in Egypt and England, and service in France. Describes actions at Pozieres, Bullecourt, Gueudecourt, Kemmel, Amiens and Hazebrouck, 1915-1916. CEW Bean wrote to Mr Hartnett, 16/11/1931, saying that he had found his memoir "useful in checking the accounts in the Oficial History of the fighting at Hermies and Bullecourt."
