Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 510 Staff Sergeant Stanislaus (Stanley) Augustine Stratford, 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance, Gallipoli. Collection consists of two original handwritten diaries between December 1914 and February 1916 covering the trip to Egypt, service on Gallipoli, establishment of a Stationary Hospital on Lemnos and his evacuation back to Australia following a bout of enteric fever. Also included is a copy of a typescript of the diaries.
