Mills, Stanley Roland (Lance Corporal, b.1895 - d.1979)
Description
Collection relating to Lance Corporal Stanley Roland Mills, 1st Division Signals, AIF. Collection consists of correspondence with his family posted from Egypt, Gallipoli, Lemnos Island, France, Belgium and London between April 1915 and March 1918. The letters provide details of life on the front. Also included in the collection are pay books for Lance Corporal Mills, a photocopy of a school publication, German souvenirs, his certificate of discharge, a receipt for Victory Medal, newspaper clippings, postcards, and later correspondence concerning his death, c.1978. The items relate not only to Lance Corporal Mills' military service, but also to his childhood and civilian life.
