Chisholm, James W (Captain, b.1906 - d.1983)
Accounts by Captain Chisholm and Captain A K Barrett (Regimental Medical Officer) on their experiences in Naoetsu prisoner of war camp. Captain Barrett concentrates on medical aspects. Material relating to the Tokyo war crimes hearings, including charges laid against Japanese guards, newsclippings and letters written by Japanese non-commissioned officers awaiting trial. Also includes sketches of allied soldiers and a copy of the report by Lieutenant General Heath regarding the Malayan campaign. A typed transcription of Captain Chisholm's report was added to this collection in 1996. Completed by Dr Charles G Roland, the transcription was made using Chisholm's handwritten report. In some places the handwriting is not clear and there may be errors in the spelling of some transcribed names, such as Bennett instead of Barrett.
