Aussie Surrender!
Description
Collection relating to the Siege of Tobruk, Libya, April - November 1941.
The collection consists solely of a German propaganda leaflet dropped over Australian lines at Tobruk. The leaflet claims that Australian lives are being ruthlessly sacrificed, that England will be soon driven out of the Mediterranean, and that German dive-bombers are waiting to sink Australian transports. Written in pencil at the bottom of the leaflet, below the instruction to Australians to surrender, are the words "What a lot of - Ferdinand".
