Description
Handwritten report by Lieutenant Ross Macpherson Smith (later Sir Ross Smith), concerning an aerial reconnaissance mission over central Sinai, February 1917.
"OC Northern Column
We have been along the AKABA Road for about 30 miles. No sign of the enemy and no life of any sort seen. Very barren country and no water along the track. The telegraph line is down and most of the poles have been pulled up.
