Description
Papers of 3863 Warrant Officer John Keene. Included are maps, official correspondence and a diary. The maps are predominantly of the Mediterranean and depict either fleet or individual ship action between June and December 1940, including HMAS Sydney. The diary covers the period 2 February 1940 to 9 February 1941 and relates to Keene's service in the Mediterranean while attached to the Navy. Keene talks of conducting patrols, sweeping for submarines, attacks by Italian bombers and air raids around Alexandria where they were based.
