Description
Artist's statement (2001): "The imagery portrayed in the platter represents the devastation and destruction in the last century, brought about by the exposure to two major world wars. The clay form was used as a foundation, the internal structural design using metals and scorched paper signifies identifiably with the burning and destruction as a result of indiscriminate annihilation of human life. The small stylised figure emerging from the debris represents superability. Re-birth begins in the new millennium."
