De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth training aircraft A17-704: RAAF

The Tiger Moth served as the basic trainer of the Second World War for trainee pilots of the Empire Air Training Scheme at Elementary Flying Training Schools around Australia. This aircraft was built in November 1943 and was delivered to the RAAF later that month. It served with 1 Elementary Flying Training School, Tamworth, New South Wales (NSW) from June 1944 till October 1944. After the Second World War it served at Point Cook, Victoria, (Vic) until disposal in 1957 and was subsequently displayed at Air World, Wangaratta, Victoria. It was acquired by the Australian War Memorial in 2001.
