Description
Lieutenant Leonard (Leon) Verdi Goldsworthy GC DSC GM, RANVR (right rear) assisting unidentified officers and ratings of the Enemy Mines Section of HMS Vernon. They are extracting an unexploded German type C magnetic mine from a deep hole it made on landing. Before retrieving it for delousing the crew had to construct a reinforced wooden shaft to gain access with work being limted to short periods at low tide.
