Description

Sterling silver brooch of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces 'rising sun' badge. The brooch is in the shape of the sun's rays rising behind a King's Crown with the words 'Australian Commonwealth Military Forces' written in scrolls below. These words are enamelled in blue and the centre space behind the King's crown is enamelled in red. The reverse of the brooch is impressed in the middle with the words 'THE G & S Co 112 REGENT STREET LONDON' Below this are the London hallmarks for 1917.

Associated with 16547 Sapper Geoffrey Douglas Jones, also known as Frederick. Jones enlisted on 23 March, 1916 and served with 5 Field Company, Australian Engineers, returning to Australia on 19 June 1919.
