History / Summary
Awarded to V39529 Captain Charles Selby Alfred Noad. Born in Melbourne in March 1896, Noad enlisted in the AIF on 16 July 1915. He served with 6 and 57 Battalions and won the Military Cross for his actions at Glencorse Wood on 25/26 September 1917. He embarked for return to Australia on 9 December 1918. He enlisted again during the Second World War. He was discharged with the rank of captain on 26 March 1947.
He was listed in the Commonwealth Gazette in June 1947 as eligible for the Efficiency Decoration.
