Description
Unofficial aluminium identity disc attached to a metal chain. The obverse of the disc has been engraved with the words '30105 H. G Cope A FA C.E.' The reverse is engraved with 'Wife 20 Glenview St Paddington Syd. N.S.W.' The fastening attaching the chain to the disc is marked 'METAL'. The chain is broken near the top.
History / Summary
Associated with 30105 Gunner Harold George Cope. Cope enlisted from Townsville on 5 June 1916 and served with the 2 Division Ammunition Column, Australian Field Artillery. He was killed in Action on 21 September 1917 and is commemmorated on the Ypres Memorial (Menin Gate) in Belgium.
