Description
Studio portrait of 3251 Private (Pte) Eric James Bird, 6th Field Artillery Brigade, of Ballarat, Vic. Pte Bird enlisted on 17 March 1915 and was accidentally killed on 12 November 1915 at Browns Dip, Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. His final unit was listed on the First World War Nominal Roll as the 6th Field Ambulance, Australian Army Medical Corps. He served in the Army Medical Corps, CMF, prior to enlistment.
