Description
Studio portrait of 3973 Private (Pte) Frederick Thomas Worland, 12th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Meredith, Vic (left), and an unidentified soldier, both wearing greatcoats. Pte Worland enlisted on 15 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 23 November 1915. e was killed in action on 25 July 1916 at Pozieres, France. At six feet four inches (193cm) he was one of the taller soldiers in the AIF. See also P03910.002.
