Description

Three French Officers, Commandant Berthier de Sauviguy DSO, Lieutenant (Lt) de la Borde and Lt Pelliot at the Dardanelles, being decorated, by the order of King George V, with the Military Cross (MC). General Sir Ian Hamilton is seen decorating Commandant Berthier de Sauviguy. Behind General Sir Ian Hamilton is Colonel Stephen Hungerford Pollen (Military Secretary), and on the extreme right is General Pipon Braithwaite, Chief of Staff, with guards of honour of Royal Naval Division and ANZAC troops and Surey Yeomanry, with Major John Strange Spencer Churchill, camp commandant, Imbros, in background.
