Green vegetables keep you well
Description
British Second World War poster by Beaumont promoting the consumption of green vegetables. The text dominates the majority of the poster on a central black trapezium with a background of green blotches. The message is printed in a block of orange at the bottom of the poster 'Prevention is better than cure'. With chronic food shortages in Britain during the Second World War, two issues faced the Government, food waste and the maintenance of a healthy population and labour force. This poster addresses the second of these concerns, promoting the consumption of green vegetables to 'keep you well'.
