There's a fire every other minute helping the enemy
Description
National Fire Service poster by Robert Norman Hepple published during the Second World War. The image depicts fire fighters attempting to douse an apartment building that is on fire with the title superimposed in white across the top of the image. Beneath this image is another one of a still-burning cigarette butt and the text ' YOU CAN"T BE TOO CAREFUL' in black. The poster urges the viewer to be aware of spot fires. On the verso is another poster with the same message but this time stylised bombs and cigarettes fall onto a burning city. A large blue stamp 'This side cancelled' covers the image.
