Awarded to 6080 Private John Cameron Friend. Friend was born in 1892 and enlisted on 12 September 1916. He served with the 22 Battalion and returned to Australia on 12 March 1918. On 14 May 1917 Friend was recommended for, and later received, the Military Medal.
