Back them up!: Britain's new Airborne Army goes into action in Europe
Description
This British Second World War poster was created by His Majesty's Stationary Office on behalf of the Ministry of Information. The poster depicts Allied soldiers and gliders going in to battle in Europe. On the left hand side of the image are two British Army Air Corps soldiers who have just landed in a glider, with the soldier looking out at the audience holding his machine gun while shooting at the approaching German soldiers.
The poster was likely produced to show the general public the sort of work that was done by Allied soldiers, with the phrase 'BACK THEM UP!' referring to continuing the fight and efforts on the home front.
This was also published under the alternate title "INTO ACTION".
