Description
Studio portrait of two privates. Seated on the left is 2351 Private (Pte) John Graham Cousins, 7th Reinforcements, 14th Battalion, of Omeo, Vic. Pte Cousins enlisted on 10 May 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard RMS Persia on 10 August 1915. On 3 March 1916 he was transferred to the 46th Battalion and was killed in action on 8 June 1917 at Messines, Belgium. Standing on the right is 2275 Private (Pte) Richard John Lewis Wade, 6th Reinforcements, 14th Battalion, of Wedderburn Junction, Vic. Pte Wade enlisted on 13 April 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Wandilla on 17 June 1915. He returned to Australia on 5 March 1919.
