Description

British Second World War poster issued by the National Savings Committee, London, encouraging savings. During the Second World War, the Government endorsed and advocated war savings as a device to stimulate economic growth and investment in the war.

This poster uses the analogy of good books to advertise investment. At the top of the poster is an image of a shelf of classic books including; Peter Pan; Tom Sawyer; the Holy Bible and The Jungle Book. Underneath this image is the title and in the foreground bottom centre is a National Savings Stamp Book which looks to have fallen off the shelf.
