A L'Oeuvre: C'est Notre Guerre
Description
This poster was one of a number produced by Canadian artist Eric Aldwinckle during the Second World War. Also printed with English text, this poster depicts a man's muscular arm wielding a hammer, that could also be seen as being held up in strength. The text, "A'loeuvre: c'est notre guerre" translates to mean "Work: it's our war". The image and text are superimposed over the French flag.
