Description
Newsmap SouthWest Pacific Vol.2 - No.14 published 6th October 1944. It features the headline 'Phillippines Sector hit hard by SWPA Units' with an illustrated feature on the US Navy's Amphibious Command on the verso.
Newsmaps were double sided posters published from 1942 by the U.S. Army's Information and Education Section. The posters were aimed at troops and detailed progress of the war, information on enemy and Allied equipment and tactics across the different theatres of the conflict. The Newsmaps followed a familiar format and by 1943 featured newspaper style layout on one side and full size maps or illustrated information on the other.
