Newsmap SouthWest Pacific Vol.3 - No.06 published 9th February 1945. It features the headline 'Manila Occupied 26 Days After Invasion of Luzon' with an illustrated article on the verso. The article identify's different types of ordinance. The poster aims to highlight the importance of preventative maintenance and that spare parts should only be taken when they are required. The poster depicts various different types of ordnance driving down an s-shaped road with explanatory text beneath.
Newsmaps were double sided posters published from 1942 by the U.S. Army's Information and Education Section. The posters were aimed at troops and detailed progress of the war, information on enemy and Allied equipment and tactics across the different theatres of the conflict. The Newsmaps followed a familiar format and by 1943 featured newspaper style layout on one side and full size maps or illustrated information on the other.
