Description

A damaged radio from a Gloster Meteor Mk 8 jet aircraft of 77 Squadron RAAF sits on a timber deck, probably at the squadron base at Kimpo airfield. The radio, which is usually situated in the aircraft just behind the head of the pilot, has been destroyed by a 30mm shell from a MiG 15 jet aircraft . The pilot at the time of the strike is thought to be Flight Lieutenant Maxwell (Max) Scannell RAF, one of 32 RAF pilots who served with the 77 Squadron during the Korean War.
