Description

Cigarette case made from duralium (duralumin), an alloy of alumiminium and copper used in aircraft manufacture. The top of the lid is inlaid with brown bakelite. The cigarette case is oval shaped with a diagonal join fitting the bottom and top sections together. It is engraved on one side with an image of a volcano and mountains with two palm trees in the foreground. A heart has been engraved around this image and the words 'RABUAL 1946' are engraved underneath. The other side is engraved with an image of a mountain with small heart shapes above it. The foreground shows a beach scene with trees around the shore and a small boat on the water.
