Description
Copies of two diaries written by VX38796 Sergeant John Dunkley Williams while serving with the mobile surgery unit of 2/7 Australian General Hospital in Middle East and North Africa, 1941-1942. First diary covers period, 2 February 1941 to 29 June 1942; second diary covers 1 July 1942 to 18 December 1942 (including activities relating to the fighting at El Alamein). Collection also includes a copy of photograph album, depicting Sgt Williams' service experiences - including camp life and surgical operations.
