Description

British Second World War poster promoting personal savings. During the Second World War great emphasis was placed upon saving money. By being frugal with money, it meant that less money was being spend on frivolities or luxuries, thus freeing up labour for essential war goods.

This particular poster despicts an artillery unit loading up their weapons.

Here a 'bob' is used as a colloquial term for a shilling. There were 12 Pence to the Shilling and 20 Shillings to the Pound.
