Associated with N260926 Private William Henry Hayes. Hayes was a miller from Chullora, New South and served with 55/53 Australian Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action in New Guinea on 7 December 1942 aged 21 years. He is buried at the Soputa War Cemetery and is commemorated on Rolls of Honour at Chullora and Bankstown, NSW.
