Garvey's cartoon portrait of Arthur Benton, from a series of thirty-six pencil drawings made in Syria, Palestine and Lebanon in 1942 of members of 15 Platoon 'C' Company, 2/32 Battalion, Lebanon 1942. Benton, seen striding along in left profile, is wearing an open-necked shirt. Arthur Edward Beatton was born in Newcastle, NSW on 25 June 1909. His Army service no. was TX6344.
