Description

Small camouflaged scale models of a railway gun with 7-axle fore bogey and 5-axel aft bogy; railway engine, eight wheeled, with coal storage (length 220mm); railway carriage, four wheeled (length 130mm); small four wheeled truck (length 85mm); two wheeled roofed trailer (length 125mm). All but the truck (painted olive drab) are crudely dapple-camouflaged in green, orange and white over black.

History / Summary

Provenance unknown. Set appears to depict a First World War British or French railway gun train. Candidate guns include British 12-inch Mk 9 or 14-inch Mk 3 'Boche Buster' of 1918, or French Batignolles 320mm, however details such as number of axles differ between the model and each of these.
