Description
Hexagonal shaped brown pressed fibre identity disc with two 4 mm mounting holes on either end. The following details are handwritten on both sides of the disc : '32252 CM WEBB 29TH Bty 8 F.A.B PRES'.
History / Summary
Worn by 32252 Gunner Cappur Mitchell Webb who served in 8 Field Artillery Brigade, AIF during the First World War. Webb was born in Geelong in 1896 and he enlisted for service in the AIF on 4 October 1916. He served on the Western Front and died from a shrapnel wound to the chest on 19 September 1917. He is buried at Belgium, Perth (China Wall) cemetery Zillebeke.
