Awarded to N447105 Private John Murphy. Murphy was born in Yass in May 1890 and joined the Volunteer Defence Corps in Coffs Harbour in March 1942 with the number N161916. He was discharged from the VDC on 10 January 1943 and joined 12 Australian Garrison Company the next day. He was discharged on 31 January 1946.
