Trench art model of a Martin B26 Marauder aircraft with ashtray base made from bullets and a cutdown 105mm shell casing . Engraved on side of the ashtray is 'Dutch New Guinea R.A.A.F. 1944'.
This ashtray was made by 63618 Corporal Charles Allen Broughton Phippen, RAAF, while he was serving on in Dutch New Guinea, 1944. The nickel plating was carried out post-war.
