Members of the Defence and Employment Platoon help engineers operate a water supply point for Fire Support Base (FSB) Lion, the forward operational base for the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF), which had moved its headquarters into the field for Operation Capital, a reconnaissance in force in the north-east of Phuoc Tuy Province. Left to right: Private John Munro of Blacktown, NSW; Private Rod Charles of Chelsea, Vic; Private David Churchill of Newcastle, NSW, who was a Medical officer attached to the platoon; and Private Kevin Hatherley of Northam, WA.
