Description

Horseshoe Hill, South Vietnam. 1969-07. Private Barry Price of Cabramatta, NSW, and a member of C Company, 9th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (9RAR), shows a South Vietnamese soldier the operations of his 7.62mm L1A1 self loading rifle (SLR), Standard Australian Service rifle, during a break in training at the Horseshoe feature near Nui Dat. The soldier, holding an M16 automatic rifle, is part of the 18th Division of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN). Note the shell dressing taped to SLR rifle stock.
