Vung Tau, South Vietnam. 1969-09. Go-kart racing is a feature of Sunday rest-days on the beach fronting the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG) base. This kart, named Vung Tau Speed Shop and owned by the Detachment of 1st Supplies and Transport Workshops, which maintains vehicles for the transport companies in Vietnam, is given a push start. Man in the driver's seat for this ride is Craftsman (Cfn) Fred Price of Nundah, Qld. Driving the Land Rover is Cfn Norm Taugge of Altona, Vic, while Private Bill Davidson of Campbelltown, NSW, looks on.
