Three members from 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), on the alert as they conduct an early morning patrol alongside a small stream. Identified, front to back: 2411349 Lance Corporal (LCpl) Andre L Dor, of Woy Woy, NSW; Private Oscar Johnson, of Port Adelaide, SA; Lulut, an Iban tracker from the Sarawak Rangers. Such patrols are routine to members of (3RAR) who are positioned at a forward base only a few miles from the Sarawak-Kalimantan (Indonesian) border. LCpl Dor is armed with an Owen machine carbine and Pte Johnson and Lulut are both carrying L1A1 self loading rifles (SLR).
